New features on Instagram platform in 2019: limits, restrictions on subscriptions and cancellation of likes

To avoid profile blocking on Instagram, follow the requirements of the developers. These include limits on comments, subscriptions, and even direct messages per day. In 2019, a dozen additional points were added to Instagram’s rules. It is important to consider this, as constant violations can easily lead to the loss of a popular business account. So don’t be lazy and familiarize yourself with the service’s requirements!

Official Instagram Limits 2019

In 2019, the official Instagram app introduced new rules. First and foremost, these are restrictions and limits on interacting with users. They are divided into two categories:

  • for newly registered profiles;
  • for profiles that are 6 months or older.

This is because almost all old accounts are large bloggers, popular brands, etc. Accordingly, they subscribe, write comments, and like posts many times more than “fresh” pages.

Restrictions for new Instagram profiles

So, let’s get to the main point: what limits have the developers introduced for beginners in the social network Instagram? Users registered after June 2019 must now comply with restrictions:

  • on subscriptions and unsubscriptions;
  • on comments;
  • on direct messages.

For convenience, let’s take a closer look at each of these points.

Subscribing to accounts per day – a safe amount

Fresh” accounts can subscribe to 720 accounts per day, including both friend requests and unfollows. For example, if you followed 700 people, you would only be able to unfollow 20 profiles today.

There is a limit on subscriptions per hour. Specifically, you can only make friends with 30 accounts within 60 minutes. For old accounts, the limit is doubled: 1440 per day and 60 per hour.

Important: You can only subscribe to 7.5 thousand users. If you plan to follow another user, first unfollow someone else.

Unsubscribing from subscribers – daily limit

There is the same limitation for unsubscribes as for friend requests: 720 per day and 30 per hour/1440 per day and 60 per hour for new and old users respectively. If you exceed the set limit, the system is likely to temporarily block the subscription option. So be careful when using bots for promotion.

Useful to know. If you have three or more violations, you may be permanently banned.

Allowed number of comments per day

The Instagram administration believes that commenting should also be done in moderation. Therefore, do not relax and do not leave more than 300 comments within 24 hours, otherwise you will again be suspected of using bots to promote your social network. In addition, keep in mind that each of the comments should be different, otherwise it will be interpreted as “spam”.

Limitations on messages per day

Mass mailing in Direct messages, as well as identical comments everywhere, is considered spam. Introducing message restrictions helps protect users from intrusive and unnecessary advertising from bots. So remember that you can only send up to 30 messages to your friends per day; if your account is over 6 months old, you can send a little more – up to 60 messages.

What sanctions does Instagram apply to violators?

Now the most interesting part. What will happen if you ignore the rules and continue to promote your profile, disregarding all these restrictions? The answer is clear – ban.

The ban can be of two types:

  • temporary – blocking for a few hours up to a couple of weeks;
  • permanent – eternal blocking.

Useful to know. The type of punishment the system will apply to you, whether temporary or permanent blocking, depends on the severity of your violations.

You can get banned for the following actions:

  • posting adult content (erotica, violence, etc.);
  • posting offensive content towards religious beliefs or inciting interethnic or interracial hatred;
  • discussing your preferences and criticizing others;
  • offering effective ways to make money;
  • spamming (mass advertising mailings);
  • suspicious activity (for example, logging in from different devices or different locations);
  • using copyrighted materials without permission (songs, texts, or photos).

However, do not expect that the administration will not see or find out. One complaint from a third-party user about your violation is enough to get you blocked.

New Instagram rules: post-like period

Various sources report that Instagram developers are actively testing an interesting new feature – the absence of likes under posts. A pilot version of the application with this option has already been launched in some countries.

The essence of the post-like period is that users will finally stop being obsessed with the fight for virtual hearts. However, it is reported that statistics for all business profiles will remain in place. So don’t worry: you can see all the information about visits and views at any time.

As mentioned above, the Instagram rules in 2019 set limits and restrictions on subscriptions, which should not be violated. It contains provisions prohibiting the posting of obscene content. If these requirements are not met, the administration may impose a permanent ban on you without the possibility of restoration. So be careful.
